You know, I thought it was, because I usually do, but as I'm thinking about it now, I may have pressed the disconnect button while I was pressing the lockers and not realized I may not have been in the right mode for sta-bar disconnect.

It was at this point that I had no idea the wheel was even that far off the ground, because things seemed pretty level from inside. When I felt the tire bounce after contact, I realized, "Oh, the tire must have been off the ground." :) It's interesting how things can seem so different inside vs. outside, depending on the situation. There have been times when it seemed a hill was much steeper while in the Bronco, but then looking at it from outside it looks like child's play.
At the bronco off roadeo they show how the 2 door would 3 wheel but in the cab it would be fine like nothing happen. kind of cool all so could get you in a lot of trouble if you or the spotter doesn't know this about the 2 door. Look like a fun trip hope to make it down there someday.

Big IFS problems, happens to all the toyota guys that do this obstacle too
It was really about the wrong line and the wrong setup going into that stair. I saw it done better than I did by another Bronco not much before me. :) One thing I've learned is that spotting helps even when you know where you want to go because from behind the wheel, it's easy to lose a sense of pitch, roll, and whether or not all four wheels are in contact with the ground.

Yes, on the lower stair, I had the left-front wheel off the ground for a bit and had no idea until I felt it hit the ground. If I had made sure the sta-bar was disconnected, it might not have lost contact, or maybe only a little. But from behind the wheel, it felt like I was on level ground. 🙂
