My dad replaced his rusty Wagoneer with a rusty '69 Bronco in 1977 and used it as a plow truck through the late '80s. Somewhere around 1980, he had the local dealer put a new tub on it. I helped him rebuild the 302 in the early '90s, then I rolled it when I was 16. It's been sitting in his basement since, and has gotten rusty again in addition to somewhat bent. I guess I owe him another tub still...

We've been talking about working on it for a while, but the last few years, he's been obsessed with getting his 1940 Ford PU back on the road, which he's had since 1967. He has a tendency to hang onto stuff...

I am showing my age here but I am so honored to have the pleasure of owning, driving and heavy 4 wheeling not one but 2 Gen 1 Broncos- and now owning a new 2021 Bronco. I have had a passion for Bronco's since I was barely a teenager- and it never let up. I was in my late teens when I got my first Bronco- a 1971 with 170 Cubic Inch six and 3 speed manual transmission- on the tree. Then a 1970 with a tricked out 302, Holley 4 barrel and headers- also a 3 speed manual on the three. That one was insane- I left everybody in the dust on the street and the trail. I had them while I was in College and working part time. So about 4 years between the two of them. I graduated and was a young engineer and the second Bronco rusted out so bad, I traded it in for a brand new custom ordered Jeep CJ5 in 1979 with a 304 V8.

Then just 2 years ago I decided to pursue my life long passion- restoring a 1966 Bronco. I found one, bought it- it was so rusted out and drive train failing but I drove it home- had tears in my eyes driving it home from the memories of being a teenager. Long story short, I tried my hardest to restore it- bought thousands of dollars of parts from Tom's Bronco parts, rebuilt the entire drive train. Getting the body work done- welding, etc. was a nightmare- I got badly ripped off by 2 body shops. I could not find anybody to do the work- that did not want 100K. I am a mechanical guy, can't do body work. I even got a Miller Welder and tried with my GF's son to do the body work in a tiny 2 car garage in a restricted community. I end up selling it and lost about 35K. Oh well, live and learn. Lesson to you young guys- mechanical work easy- body work, welding and paint- super, super expensive, if you can even find anybody.

Now, this amazing new 2021 Bronco is finally here. It reminds me so much of the Gen 1 Bronco. Of course I reserved a Black Diamond Monday morning. I am so excited , can't wait. (My 28 year old son is getting one too).

Anyone else own Gen 1 Broncos, and now ordered a 2021?
Yes I had a 1968 restored it after 10 years , sold it Jan 2020 for $40,000, now ordered a new one with modern conveniences

I did a frame off restoration of a 68 Bronco about 15 years ago. Sold it but miss it...

This was my ‘72, I had in high school. I survived cancer with this rig, it wasn’t perfect, but it was mine and sold it for the wrong reasons and have kicked myself everyday.

Have owned m 74 since 96, unfortunately is sitting in storage in Iowa. Was going to bring it to Alaska last summer but COVID screwed it up. I hope to get it up here this summer or next. Been stockpiling parts ro
continue my restoration.

Nice uncut Bronco! My 74 is uncut also. I think I’m going to give her a lift and try to squeeze some bigger tires under it. I was going for the stock look changed paths.
