A while back we released our 2.5 EXP shocks for Bronco, and in another thread you may have seen us release Stages 3 through 8 of our Complete Suspension Systems featuring our full coilovers. Now we're filling in the blanks by designating Stages 1 & 2 of our Bronco Suspension Systems, which feature the 2.5 EXP shocks.

The 2021-up Ford Bronco has quickly become the hottest off-road vehicle around, and ICON Vehicle Dynamics has been at the forefront of engineering suspension systems and components to squeeze every ounce of performance out of this exciting platform. Now, ICON rounds out it's full line of complete Suspension System "Stages" with the addition of entry level suspension performance packages featuring the popular new 2.5 EXP coilover shock.

EXP Series shock absorbers combine the performance of a fully rebuildable 2.5-inch diameter premium shock with the convenience and cost-benefits of re-using the Bronco’s factory coil spring and other components. EXP bridges the gap between spacer lifts and threaded bodied coilovers, providing suspension lift, custom-tuned performance and maximum travel, all in an economical package.

STAGE 1
ICON's Stage 1 Complete Suspension System for 21-Up Ford Bronco includes front and rear EXP shocks only. As the EXP shock allows for user-selectable lift-height, Stage 1 is suitable for those Bronco owners who will be using the lowest of the available height setting, which is suitable for use with the Bronco's OE upper control arms.

STAGE 2
ICON's Stage 2 Complete Suspension System for 21-Up Ford Bronco includes front and rear EXP shocks as well as your choice of either tubular or billet Upper Control Arms. As the EXP shock allows for user-selectable lift-height, Stage 2 is suitable for those Bronco owners who will be using the higher of the available lift height settings, where the ICON UCA's will be beneficial in correcting front end alignment.

IMPORTANT: please note that Stage 1 and Stage 2 systems (and the EXP shocks they include) are specific for either the OE HOSS 1.0 or HOSS 2.0 suspension systems. Below are the individual kit numbers for each application:

HOSS 1.0 - FOR BRONCOS EQUIPPED WITH HOSS 1.0 O.E. SUSPENSION
HOSS 1.0 is Ford's "base" suspension system for Broncos with the Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks and Black Diamond trim levels WITHOUT the Sasquatch package. HOSS 1.0 is most easily identified by the BLACK shock bodies of the OE Hitachi shocks.
  • K40001 21-UP BRONCO HOSS 1.0 PKG 1.5-3" LIFT STAGE 1 SUSPENSION SYSTEM
  • K40002T 21-UP BRONCO HOSS 1.0 PKG 1.5-3" LIFT STAGE 2 SUSPENSION SYSTEM TUBULAR
  • K40002 21-UP BRONCO HOSS 1.0 PKG 1.5-3" LIFT STAGE 2 SUSPENSION SYSTEM BILLET

HOSS 2.0 - FOR BRONCOS EQUIPPED WITH HOSS 2.0 O.E. SUSPENSION
HOSS 2.0 is Ford's upgraded suspension system for Broncos of the Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks and Black Diamond trim levels WITH the optional Sasquatch package, and it is also standard on Badlands, Wildtrak, First Edition and Everglades. HOSS 2.0 is most easily identified by the YELLOW shock bodies of the OE Bilstein shocks.
  • K40011 21-UP BRONCO HOSS 2.0 PKG 0-3" LIFT STAGE 1 SUSPENSION SYSTEM
  • K40012T 21-UP BRONCO HOSS 2.0 PKG 0-3" LIFT LIFT STAGE 2 SUSPENSION SYSTEM TUBULAR
  • K40012 21-UP BRONCO HOSS 2.0 PKG 0-3" LIFT LIFT STAGE 2 SUSPENSION SYSTEM BILLET

Is the suspension travel the same as the stage 3+ kits? Would be looking at a stage 2 with tubular UCA vs going with a stage 3.

No, these are going to have about the same amount of travel as stock, since they retain the stock coil springs. The value proposition is in the shock performance, strength, durability and built-in lift versus stock, and in the lower price versus full coilovers. But there's not really any increase in travel over stock. There is a long and frank discussion of the EXP shocks over in our EXP thread (link in the first paragraph of my first post in this thread).
