You would need to talk to your dealer. I'm sure there is something you could do, but they each have their own processes.

Ford has a name match policy on these and falling out of that pretty much makes sure they don’t get any future allocations.

Some dealers are set up for remote delivery/paperwork. Do you have a trade? Are you paying cash or financing (with Ford or own bank/credit union)? I would talk to your sales person and get some of these things worked out ahead of time. It's one thing to sign remotely, another to try and figure all of this out on d-day.

Just let them know what's happening. I really don't think they will sell it out from under you if they know the details. They couldn't stand the ensuing lawsuit if they did something like that to me after I told them of my schedule.

Not more than a week or two. And even though this dealer has fantastic reviews, dealerships in general don’t exactly have the best reputation when it comes to integrity, which is my source of concern.
