Nice! I’ve got the tune not sure if the intercooler is CA Carb legal. I need to see. You know I need more Baja juice!

The addiction is real.
I have the roll bar brace on order now, in case the juice gets too loose.

Why wouldn't an intercooler be CRAP legal? If anything, by having a solid unit, should be considered beneficial instead of detrimental due to lack of degrading plastics

No idea. Just know its a thing. Probably just a way for states like CA to get more money from everyone is my guess. See this thread about Cobbs intercooler being one of the only 50 state CARB legal versions at least at the time of this thread. https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/thre...o-intercooler-today.97661/page-3#post-2304177

That is a good question I never measured it, but I can. I dug through my photos and found these. It looks like it is about the same distance, hard to tell. There is just no brick in the middle anymore, it's in the grille now. I will post some pics with measurements later.

Looking up. The big round hole to the left is the IC mounting flange. The small hole in the tab to the right is where the stock skid bolts up.

Wish I had seen this a few days earlier. As part of my bumper install I swapped out the stock IC for a regular mount Mishimoto IC (caught a local deal, $300). Also installed MT4x4 frame reinforcements.

The frame reinforcements have a top bracket that uses the bolt that snugs the metal IC brace to the frame. I didn’t remove the grill and even with the stock IC pulled it was a tight fit. With the grill gone this would have been gravy work.

And with the Mishimoto high mount you removed that bracket in its entirety. Interesting though, because with the way the high mount snakes behind the frame horns I am curious if it would interfere with the frame reinforcements. You have an inner, outer & top plate to contend with and access to tighten those various plates. To have a shot you would have to to install the reinforcements first. Just not sure if the boxing would clear or not.

On the high mount the piece you highlighted is flipped side to side. So it angles backwards for clearance. Those are some beefy reinforcements. I can see that causing issues with a high mount. I have ones that just reinforce the sides, and it was tight quarters and tricky on getting everything to clear and be tight.
