Is there any information out there that breaks out the currently available intakes, what’s included, air box volume differences, flow, water-fording capabilities, and dyno (claimed or actual, independent)?

I searched, and didn’t see it.

I don’t have a comprehensive list either, but here’s what I quickly recall is out there.

1. S&B
2. aFe
3. Mishimoto
4. Mishimoto w snorkel
5. Injen
6. Injen w snorkel (planned)
7. K&N
8. Volant
9. Corsa
10. Roush (lid only?)

Anybody (including vendors) have any hands-on experience with more than one who can help provide some opinions here?

For ease of access, went with Corsa/Volant (same difference)

I cant speak for the others, but anything’s is better than that overpriced lid and oversized KN filter (Roush)

Volant if you offroad in dusty conditions a lot.
They offer the Donaldson Powercore filter which is the best for that.
I have the Volant with two filters the regular filter for everyday driving and the powercore for offroad duty.

Hello!
AFE is our most popular option for this platform so far. We have tested their intakes on other ecoboost platforms and they've always performed as advertised. Their quality is top tier, too.

The same can be said for S&B - we haven't tested them on the Bronco as they're a rather new addition to the market, but they always come through.

Corsa and K&N are both common for our customers, too, and I would not hesitate at all to use them. They're both proven brands and ones we often recommend.

Let us know if we can assist at Lethal Performance - we have many of these in stock and ready to go.

Josh, great questions and I have the same. Actual comparison's would be great and this is why I haven't spent my money on one. I always figure the manufactures have way more research and engineering and money to develop the proper parts. With EPA constraints etc. etc. These company's seem to be very vague. These turbo's seem to work pretty well with the air they get now so I'm not sold yet. Let's get some real comparisons. Jim.

It appears that Volant sells a Donaldson Powercore filter as a stand alone option for the factory intake box, or is this just a replacement for the filter that comes with their intake? Website isn't clear, but might be an option. I personally like the flap that the factory intake has to limit / prevent water intake.

Volant | PowerCore®100K Mile No Maintenance Air Filter (61509) Replacement Air Filter - Volant Performance
I have the volant with donaldson filter and I tried to fit the filter on the stock intake and it doesn't work (easily).
The connection point to the stock box is about 1/8" too wide.
If one were very determined, and had a dremel, and some time on their hands it could be made to work.
OR, if you heated the rubber coupler on the donaldson filter enough and wrestled
with it, it's possible that may work.
Either way it would take some effort.

I have the K&N cold intake, any views on wether I should go with Mishimoto intercooler and pipes or get the Whipple intercooler and K&N charge pipes?

Have you put on the S&B? I'm considering the S&B or Injen. Any pics would be great too! I'm hoping this will work with the Grimm ARB twin compressor mount, which looks like it should...

I can speak to Injen intakes. Quality product, built out in a way that matters, the charge pipes are bigger, have fewer turns, and go all the way to the turbos. Injen also is adding other products, such as the hot and cold charge pipes, and they will also offer their intercooler soon.

Injen CAI is a pain to put on. Though when you do get it on, I will say it is worth the pain.

Any updates or new info to add here? I am trying to decide between Injen and S&B. They both look quality and come with new larger intake tubes to the turbos. S&B looks like a bigger filter but Injen has the second opening in the back for more air and appears to have a bigger box. Any further info/ experiences would be appreciated.

We are big fans of the Injen setup. They are currently 15% off with free shipping using code "Injen15" :)

Looks like s&b doesn’t have much tube for the passenger side?
