This solution is not for everyone. Wanted to store the spare inside while towing the camper. Didn’t want to put it on the roof. I mounted a truck bed carrier to my Diabolical drawer top. Further secured it with two ratchet straps. She’s solid and the stock BB rim and tire fit perfectly, no rubbing with the back seats up or down on my four door. Cheers!

I’ve been waiting for someone to talk about mounting a tire inside the cargo area. Tbh, I love the look of the spare tire removed from the tailgate with the plate, 3rd brake light and camera all in the middle of it, but I’ve had to use my spare so I don’t want to lose the ability to have my spare with me. Love your solution.

Is there a reason you didn't mount it over to one side, instead of the middle-ish, like you did?

Very good. I am also a "spare tire delete" kind of guy. I am thinking of getting a slightly smaller diameter and narrower spare tire so it is not so bulky.

Can you take me through your thought process of not putting it on the roof rack?

Also, a photo from further back in order to see the entire back would be great.

Thanks

Look up. The speaker pod is in the way.
Might just be the picture angle, but it still looks like there's room to move it over - But maybe not as much as I thought. 🤷‍♂️

The speaker pod as well as the bump out in the tailgate. I was trying to find the “sweet spot” to keep anything from rubbing.

You might be able to move it over a couple of inches.

Several things:
-I don’t have a roof rack.
-Getting the tire off the roof. PITA as well as the back!
-I have some delamination happening on the shell. I will be turning in a warranty claim in the future. Don’t want to give them any reasons to deny it.

Looks great! Off topic question, where did you get the inner wall linings in your cargo area?

Love your setup! Can you share the link to your Diabolical slide out? And also to those side canvas covers you have protecting the rear plastic trim pieces? They scratch by just looking at them lol. I have been looking for something exactly like that! TIA

Let me be the first to go: "But why?" Why would you take up that much valuable interior space? These are not space saver tires! lol

I would have loved to see this plus a tailgate on the Bronco 6g. Considering we're stuck with the swing gate it doesn't make much sense to eat into the cargo area.

Edit: I think it influences departure angle? Saw a video here of someone lead footing around and had the spare shatter the rear window.

Thanks for sharing though OP!
