Aside from the front of the hard top creaking anytime I go off-roading (or over a big pot hole) my Bronco has been randomly locking itself. I keep the fob in the front cubby of the center console 100% of the time, and when out and about the driver's side door will lock itself. I had this happen yesterday when I was mountain biking. It was a bit of an "oh crap, I guess I am riding 15 miles home" moment until I tried the rear door which was unlocked. I tested the passenger doors and they were also unlocked.

In addition, today I went out to the bronco to wash the car and it was unlocked like it should be, and all windows were up, but when I opened the driver's door the alarm count down began and then the alarm sounded. Like always, the key fob was in the center console.

Any thoughts? Do I need to get a head of garlic and some silver bullets? :)

I don’t think it’s a good idea to store the fob inside the Bronco.
I know if I work around my Bronco with the key in my pocket It never shuts down completely. Always hear electronics clicking and things activating anytime I’m near it. Even though im just in the carport near it. Not touching it at all.
When I don’t have the fob it’s quiet and doing nothing as expected. Maybe you are confusing it by leaving the fob inside or it’s acting in a way it’s programmed that you’re not expecting.
Try storing the fob inside the house and see if it stops acting goofy.

This is why it's best to park in a faraday bag.
I use a faraday bag when parked out front due to videos of people using repeaters to unlock and start your car with keys inside the house...

My fob nearly never leaves my Bronco. It’s always in the center console while parked at my house. Going on 2 years and 24k miles without any issues. I use the keypad to lock and unlock. No faraday bag.

Yep, fob stays in the truck, since day one.

Check your settings in the truck and grease up & spray your bushings and see if the squeak goes away.

Ford Pass app works for me.

I had this problem with my baby 2024 Bronco Sport, which was loaded up with all the robot nannies. I too kept the fob in the center console (I live where gophers have to pack a sack lunch). And I too got locked out several times, and fortunately found the passenger door unlocked to mitigate the problem.

The problem was made worse when my barber, noticing my dilemma, offered me his keys and said: "Do you need to borrow my Chevy?"

The dealer and I concluded that, in this case, the sensor in the driver-side door was likely the cause.

I solved the problem by trading in for a stripped-down, full-sized Bronco with zero options except the gorgeous Velocity Blue paint. The big Bronco does not have those sensors. It seems to know I'm a grownup with a mind of my own.

BTW, the only problem I've had with the big Bronco is the automatic bright/dim headlights functionality. It got confused. I turned it off in the settings menu.

I know I keep hitting the manual door lock with my ass or something. So the driver's door will be locked, but all the rest of the doors unlocked.

I always feel dumb doing it, and fat.

OP do you also have the keypad?
Just wondering since a couple others do and leave the fob in 24/7.
I find it interesting people still leave their keys/fob in their vehicle 24/7.

My windshield wipers will intermittently fire off for no reason.

Before you call the repairman, turn on all the lights, check all the storage and cargo area, look under all the seats, 'cause you never can tell --there just might be a gremlin.

My alarm just went off a second ago this morning when my wife opened the passenger door. I never set the alarm last night, nor did I lock it last night...

Yes I have a keypad, which I moved to the gas tank door. So no way to be inadvertently hitting it.

When I go in for my service I'll ask about the door sensor, even though you had a baby Bronco. It's my understanding that the base to raptor trims have the same entry system (keyfob). There is no manual door lock on the Bronco so I can't see how I would just lock the driver door, as the lock/unlock switches activate all 4 doors.

I will try keeping the fob out of the Bronco as an experiment, but long term I'm not going to do that.

Man how I wish we all just had regular keys like for the last 100 years.

Perhaps there is some kind of ritual or interpretive dance you can perform to communicate with your vehicle that you want to get in it?
