A ton of JK owners will say that not much changed with the JL but it's a drastic improvement
I was one of them, I figured a lot of it is fanboyism. Nope, Jeep nailed it. I’m SO glad I test drove that because comparing Bronco with a JK is not fair in any way. If Ford has managed to improve on the JL in an easily measurable way as far as driving dynamics are concerned I will be very impressed.

That's one of the reasons it's unfair for people to talk about how sh*tty the Wrangler is compared to the Bronco, because they aren't comparing the JL to the Bronco. The JL is a different animal, well at least a bit different.

Another thing is stock vs stock too. There are way too many JL’s out there on a $400 rough country lift kit that totally ruins the ride quality.

So, I drove a few JTs, and I didn’t think they were that much better. I suppose I should go drive a JLUR and see what I think.

Why is this thread under "general" and not "vs. the competition" ??? 🤔

Couldn't believe how much better my friends JL drove vs my JK. His was a 4 door with stock suspension but with 33" mudders, mine is 2 door with a 2.5" lift and 33" all terrains. Of course the longer wheelbase helped but it just soaked up bumps so much better than mine. But the SFA was a endless pain for him with death wobble so he got away from it and surprisingly went back to a 2 door JK.

Interior quality felt about the same, mine is a 2012 so it has the redesigned interior from 2011.

A couple weeks ago I went and test drove some 2021s and on paper the 2.0 is supposed to be the leader, but I found that it was overly sluggish until you got to about half throttle or more. I don't want to have to punch the pedal just to get going from a stop light. It literally felt like the throttle cable had a ton of slack in it and didn't take hold until you were well into the throttle.
Now once you DO punch the pedal and it gets up a bit, it had a ton of go!

by contrast the 3.6 had no surprises, never gave you any sense of kicking in, but it started pulling just off throttle and continue to do so all the way up.

But the real winner was when I drove the diesel. I would have to go back and retest the 2.0 again, But after driving the diesel there was just no turning back.

As for ride quality, I too couldn't understand all these people's complaints. It wasn't that bad, but it wasn't a car. The only complaint I had was I think the dealer had the tire pressure up too high so it was a bit skippy.

The tire pressure probably was high. I've been told it's the first mod to make, haha, that when you drive it home after purchase, let some of the air out.

A friend of mine bought a JT Rubicon with diesel and it's a really nice package. I was really surprised at how nice it was. Although I didn't get the diesel (not offered in a two-door JL), after seeing their JT, I was sold.

Yeah I've heard that JLs are arriving on the trucks with tire pressure that is too high as well. Someone on the JL forum joked that the "40.4" teaser from Jeep was the psi at delivery lol.

Actually from what I read, the first mod is to make sure All your relays and fuses are fully seated before you start messing up all the electronics. Then probably the tire pressure ;)

If it stays up for more than 4 hours, Nick, please consult a physician.
