Nice write up! Did the Moab Orr-Rodeo with Dave also (end of April), and we had an excellent experience with him. I got the only 2-dr. in the bunch, which only added to the experience, as a 2-dr. owner. Great photo of the dinosaur footprints he also showed us!

Happy trails!

Thanks for the tip. It will probably be a while before I go. My brother and I already have our next few destinations planned.

I've been to a lot of places in the Rockies and loved it, but that was in the family car when I was a kid, not on two wheels. Hoping to revisit some of those places on two wheels over the next few years. I used to do track riding and I've been on a few western race tracks on two wheels--didn't take in much of the scenery. Future trips are going to be much more relaxed. I just retired near the end of last year BTW.
Congrats on the retirement. I was blessed to retire early at 58. I stay busy with chores, lots of hobbies, pickleball and grandkids. Cool thing about retirement is you can do what you want when you feel like it. The pay isn't as good but the hours are great. Stay busy and stay young.

I would recommend getting a National Parks Pass that last for a year good and are good at all of the National Parks. There are several NPs within a days ride of Moab (if you are driving there.)
If you're over 62 it's $80 for a lifetime pass... ask me how I know

My wife & I are going in October (both as drivers) and really looking forward to it. Gonna overnite in Durango en route and spend a week tooling around in Arches, Canyonlands and Moab area. Staying at Red Cliff Lodge a couple nights

Sorry for corrupting this thread with a side-track... ;)

Back in "the olden days", when I got my pass, it was ten bucks.

I happened to be in Death Valley the day before my 62nd birthday, hoping to get the ranger to bend the rules just a tiny bit. Nope. Even though it was less than ten hours before it would be official, no dice.

So far I've used that lifetime pass at 42 national parks, 2/3 of them.
