There was a rumor the circulated among MAP employees of a 7/5 - 7/16 shutdown that at the time was blamed on semiconductors. The schedule never included that shut down, and builds were scheduled for the week of 7/5 until this past Monday.
How does this impact deliveries for those being built the week of 6/28? Will deliveries out of MAP continue through the shutdown?

Nah, it was communicated outside of Ford, communicated to vendors and in print. Currently shows 7/26 as another shutdown, but that is an "estimate".
Fleet order literature reflected the same target weeks for additional shut downs as needed back when the vast majority of incoming conductors were being diverted to Dearborn. This was before the commodity rebalance that solved that issue.

Not trying to be argumentative, but as of 48 hours ago there were builds scheduled for the week of 7/5.

Gate release and shipping will continue as normal. This is simply a 1 week pause in production.

Allow commodity supplies to catch up??
Why can’t they just build the ones they have parts for... No need for more delays.
Because, ummmmmmm, that's exactly the opposite of how JIT (Just In Time) manufacturing works?

There isn't a single warehouse sitting on 200,000 of every part number just waiting for a group of adventurous toddlers to snap them together like legos.

So what about the week of the 26th?
I was just told that is another shutdown week.

I believe this was scheduled in during the changes we saw over the weekend, many builds were pulled forward to the week of 6/28.
Hmnnn, my build is scheduled for 7/7 when I called Ford last week. Not sure how this jives?

That week was targeted for another shut-down as needed but that is not currently planned.

I would assume they only have so much room for partially built vehicles.

Production was adjusted earlier this week. Check again, you've likely either pulled forward 1 week or moved back 1 week.

EDIT: Pushed back 1 week or further. I covered yesterday how the 8/2 production week was being used as a parking spot for many builds as the start of full speed production with many slots available. As the ramp up increases, I expect many builds to be pulled forward again into July production.

Or more…I was a 7/7 build date and as of yesterday it’s now 8/2 unfortunately. So could be moved by several weeks potentially.

allow commodities to catch back up? That’s a crock of shit, unless they’re getting MORE volume, it’s the same number you’re just not using it that week.

May not be a bad thing.

Do you want your Bronco built by a bunch of people that may be still hungover from their 4th of July weekend?

Tuesday the 6th may not have been the best day for QC scores, just sayin’

Or pushed out even farther than a week. 4th time.
