Just in- MAP will be down the week of 7/5 to allow commodity supplies to catch back up.

One week closure, production resumes 7/12 with full speed production still on track for 8/2.

EDIT 2: The 2nd week of shutdown - 7/26 - is now confirmed as well.

This leaves three remaining weeks of ramp-up phase production (6/28, 7/12, and 7/19) before full line speed production begins on 8/2.

Haven't heard much lately from our nighttime "capacity scheduling" superheroes. They must be updating their models.

Allow commodity supplies to catch up??
Why can’t they just build the ones they have parts for... No need for more delays.

I'm hopeful they can get 40k-50k done by the end of this year and 60k done Jan-April of 2022. That would put me somewhere between May-July of 2022...

This is likely seen as a less disruptive way to maintain supply chain balance instead of making later blend adjustments due to dwindling commodity supply.

I can't say for sure, but I assume this is to give Webasto a chance to catch up a bit on hard tops before the bigger production run begins.

I imagine this is why my FE pleasantly got moved up... last email from Ford had a build week of 7/05, but my window sticker (released yesterday) has a Blend Date of 6/30.

Screw giving Webasto a chance. We’d rather Ford just make the Broncos they already have parts for. There are plenty of soft-tops with VINs that still need to be built (myself included). Stopping production entirely doesn’t help anybody. There has to be more constraints than just the hard top for them to be doing this. I wonder what the real reason is...

Any chance they will send MAP employees back over to Webasto for that week to help pump the hardtop numbers up?
I've not been able to confirm that, and at this point it may be counterproductive as the new crew at Plymouth needs to get into their own rhythm. Also, in the previous shutdown it was mostly Flat Rock plant employees who went over to Webasto.
