I was installing IAG interior lights and found this card for a keyless entry system. I don’t have a keypad on the exterior of my Bronco. Does anyone know why I have this card?

Hey, can you also post your social security number, home address, and bank card PIN? Kidding.

Not sure I'd post this "security code," even if you don't have a keyless entry system now, doesn't mean you won't forever.

What I’m asking is if I buy a keypad will it work with this number or will the dealer have to program?

The dealer will need to program the keypad to your truck but the code is for your truck. I imagine that all broncos have them. Where did you find the card? I will check mine.

Pop open the panel under the steering wheel. There is fuse panel in there. The card was in the front of it.

I believe that FORD just put the keyless module into every Bronco which allows you to add the keyless entry pad just as a stick on pad.

What this code is the HARDWARE code built into the system, the default code that the system will have. You likely shouldn't share that. No one will be able to do anything with it though as there is some programming that must be done to pair the keypad.

Thanks, It is there. I had that open when I hooked up my steps but never noticed the card.

I figured the odds of someone reading this, locating my Bronco and I’ve installed a keypad are slim, but it would make a hell of a story.

It’s my understanding that the card comes with the keypad. Mine isn’t in the panel, it’s in the bag with the instructions on how to program your own key code.
Same from my experience. Just purchased one last week and the it was programmed to match the card that came in the packaging. That said, I'm not sure I understand what the SecuriCode in the fuse box would be used for if the keyless entry wasn't part of the original build.

Same for me, the card that came with the Bronco doesn't seem to mean anything.

So I lost my little card that had the code on it but know that it did work at one point. Fast forward a couple months and tried to use the keypad but didn't work (not sure if I had the code incorrect or not). So i went into the dealer and said I don't recall the code but showed them the securicode under the dash (they weren't even aware that code was there) but that code wasn't working either so they said they'd reprogram it.

They take it back in the shop, 45 minutes later bring it up and said they could not reprogram it and that I would have to buy a new one to get it functional...wait what? Didn't make sense to me, if they can't program the original one that came with the Bronco how would they program a new one that I bought?

Also - there was a mechanic that also had a bronco, he looked at his securicode and it did not match his little card in the glovebox that had the code, meaning, there seems to be no correlation to the securicode under the dash and your actual code issued by the factory!

I'm not done looking into this and will update post with any developments.....

Boy am I confused now.
Bought my Badlands without the keypad, bought a keypad only to find it needs to be programmed at a dealer. Anything else I need to know?
