I know this has been covered a few times, but after changing out the Goodyears that comes on these things, did you notice a significant difference in the amount of rocks being thrown?

Thanks

I have 400 miles on my bronco and multiple rock chips already. I've added mud flaps and side steps, but the rocks are still finding their way past them.

Night and day. Which is a shame because it's otherwise a nice driving tire.

Curious what you replaced with?
Depends what day it is. I have Pathfinder SATs, Badak Extremes, Mickey ATZs, and Swamper SX2s.

I have a problem.

I also think the Goodyears drive nice which is why I'm hesitant to replace them. I have OEM side steps with Rekgen XL flaps and I haven't gotten any chips yet. I know some people don't like the look of flaps, let alone larger ones.

After driving down my friend's gravel driveway, I still hear a few hitting the bottom of steps.

All of them. The Territories are in a class of their own for throwing rocks, I've never seen anything like it.

I do believe that big pharma has a pill for that "problem". Yeah I think I read that somewhere.

Damn it, that's right it was the wife that told me this! LOL

I have decent sized mud flaps and side steps. Having had a chip yet (don't want to jinx it) though I hear the tired throwing a ton of stuff when I am on gravel. I don't mind the look of mud flaps.

If you are looking for tires that don't rock throw, I always look at the tread pattern. I try to find a pattern that is not so tight as the oem goodyears, and are somewhat open pattern. I always try to stay with Mickey Thompson's as for a brand I like. But there are so many good brands to choose from. You just need to do you, and what you prefer in a tire.

Once the Goodyears lose that "new tire stickiness", the amount of rocks thrown decreases pretty significantly.
Up through 500-600 miles was a friggin nightmare, but now at 4,500 I don't get many at all.

I’ve had BFG tires for as long as I’ve been driving and love them. Also considering Toyo open country AT3, but don’t have any experience with them. The Toyos look like they have a wider spacing in the treads, hopefully throwing less rocks.
