Still better than warthog
Warthog will be a trim level, but still a Bronco, right? It may have some dumb sticker like the Raptor does, but stickers can be removed and you can call it Sheila if that calms you down.

It is almost un-American to not like the warthog name. It is one badass aircraft.
Yes, the plane is badass. But I hope you would agree that a lot of Americans will not conjure up visions of badass fighter jets limping home victoriously after kicking some terrorist ass! They will however think of a stinky-hairy-muddy-PIG. Just drop a set of truck nutz on to complete the full bro-effect!

Airplane = Cool
Pig = No

So what do people think of with the Raptor?

Raptor plane or Raptor bird, both birds of prey?

The Raptor I picture (and think Ford got the name from) is the dinosaur.

The jet fighter image doesn't work on a truck that is found mainly in the suburbs of America.

The bird is the symbol for Buick.

I'm a retro kinda guy. Badges like GT, SS, RS are good enough for me.

Bronco R would be perfect.

Bronco Baja Edition would be fine.

I'm not getting (or considering) one so in the long run it matters little to me. And I'm pretty sure I won't see many (any?) of this 75-80,000 dollar truck on any trails. They will all have gone wee, wee, wee all the way home.

;)

Or ford can combine their best two selling vehicles from the 60s and 70s , that would be mustang and bronco so why not.
BRONCSTANG
or just the second syllables, CoStang or StangCo... or for those that prefer Mus-tang, CoTang or TangCo... Still must be recovering from A/T price and multi-top option updates, but still cannot get roof rack or headliner with 2.7 BL and still have to pay for included rock rails. Next we will be surprised with Camo MGV in clear & frosted invisible pattern (bonus holographic Bronco image that welcomes you to your interior space) with neon BLUEishOrange glow-in-dark accented stitch that will go with any exterior color except the one you want. Just wondering, in history books of the future will we see it as 2019, 2021 or 2019-2021 to avoid mentioning 2020? I will recover from the 2.7 pricing with A/T and may be rewarded with a WhiteTop option after all.
Wishing all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year - be safe out there!

I think "Warthog" fits it perfectly. Tough, rough, travels over any terrain and is mean natured. Perfect!

I absolutely love the prototype currently called the Warthog. I hate the name. I think we should run an unofficial re-naming contest here to improve on the current (lame) moniker!

A Bronco is a horse right??? A Warthog is... a hog? A pig? I don't see the connection. What's next, the Hippo? They are big, mean, and have tusks...

Horse: Bronco:
Stud
Stallion
Gelding (2.3 only)

Well, that sucks... How about an old western theme. They rode horses.
Gunslinger
Outlaw
Stable Boy

Damn... I messed that one up too. Looks like Warthog is the best that can be done... Unless you all have better ideas!
Warthog is perfectly fine as long as your mount the gun from A10 on the top through the gunner hatch!

The problem with sticking with the horse theme for bronco variant names is it becomes corny very quickly.

I like Warthog for the code name and wouldn’t mind it for production either.

These don't look tough or badass. These look like some aged-out rockers from the 80's with mohawks and bad teeth! This is not the emblem I would want on my bronco.
