I just picked up my ‘23 Basequatch from the shop this morning after having the ReadyLift 3” SST kit installed and when I get home it looks like a grease bomb went off on my left front wheel area. Not a mechanic but kinda freakin’ out about it. Called shop 30 minutes ago and still waiting for a callback… Need advice please. What do I do now?

Did they forget to reinstall the boot clamp.

I would be concerned about the cv joint having been separated and them not replacing the internal clip that retains the CV. Ask me how I know!

BTW, the axle will stay together without the clip, even at full extension with a 2.5" lift.

The only reason the original clamp let go was because the shop removed it to put the CV back together after they accidentally (incompetently) caused it to separate!

How would I know at this point if the internal clip was replaced or still needs to be?

So I got under the vehicle today to check on everything visually and I see this.

Why would the side that was throwing grease have a blue ball joint and the other side is black?

A ball joint must be separated to spread the a-arms apart when removing a strut. I would guess they messed the ball joint up and replaced it. Maybe they tore the boot and just replaced that. Just a guess that the ball joint or the boot was replaced.
