I am upgrading my non-sas OBX wheels and tires. I am going to a 17" rim (+25 offset) and throwing some 35" tires on. Not sure what to do about a lift kit. Best options? 2 inch? 1 inch? Regular zone lift? Leveling kit? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

wheels good. 2 inch best for 35s imo but 1 inch level easier cheaper. I've seen zone spacer and rough country and like zone best as it is tapered for front to better mate with angle of suspension.

for reference. 17x9 +18 offset wheels, 315x70x17 tires, 2" RC spacers ($150ish) no rub at all. You will have to remove front the rear crash bars though.

Lift not neccesarily needed.

My Base has 35 X 11.5's on 17 X 8.5 w/ +35mm offset. NO LIFT , they fit fine for street driving. No rub at all.

If/when I lift, it will be with the Icon spacer lift. They built it to handle a full stuff with 35 x 12.5's and their +25MM wheels.

Can you give the specific tire size you got? e.g. 315/75/17 or whatever it translates to. Thanks

Toyo Open Country AT III
35 x 11.5 - 17 .... Load Range C

Actual measurements = 34.5 x 11.4

The metric equivalent does not exist, but it would be very close to 295/75-17 (which does not exist...)

Next closest will be the 285/75-17 at nearly 34" and 11.2 ... Toyo also has a C load rated in this size. I prefer to stay away from the E load rated tires. I fear they will be too stiff, others disagree.

... or the 315/70-17 sasquatch size tires. There are several good ones with the Load Range C rating.

Pretty much any of them will plaster the sides.

I ended up going with Ford's front mud flaps, mainly because of rock chips, it helps, but I probably need something longer.
