It's an interesting idea. If Ford does decide to bring the Everest to the US it might be better to move it up market so as not to cannibalize Bronco Sales. There is clearly a strong and lucrative market for premium, more modestly off-road capable SUV's
I can't see to much overlap between the Bronco crowd and the Everest crowd, it may take sales from the Sporty.

I wanted one from the beginning, but I've gown fond of the cheap interior and convertible roof.

I'd Squatch it myself if they didn't offer it from the factory.

and these were based on the F-series.
And your new car... Is a Bronco based on a Ranger, not an F-Series. So technically the 6G is a Bronco II.

Why do you speak ill of the Bronco II!? It was a good Bronco, based on the Ford Ranger. Much as another Bronco is based on another Ranger.

They should have named the Sport the new Escape. It looks close enough to the orginal that it would work.
Bronco II certainly better than the Mustang II . Think Farrah Fawcett driving out of Charlie's parking lot and the sparks from bumper meets pavement

I would have to see what upgrades they would do if it were a Lincoln. Better seats??? Fancy interior? bigger engine?? Just not sure what it would take to make it a Lincoln. IF the market would be a fancy mall crawler - no thanks. I own a 21 Navigator, it's the best trip car ever. Comfy on those 14hr drives, packed with luggage and 2 golden retrievers.

Blackwood II?
Lengthen the chassis, put in captains' chairs for the 2nd row, plus a 3rd row of seats (Thanks, Gabby, above), gussy it up with power everything (including rear lift gate), and media screens everywhere so the kids aren't bored while they are comfortably whisked from scenic vista to scenic vista.
Then call it the Excursion II.
Then photograph it on Moab's Top of the World trail, but don't let anybody know it was lifted there by a helicopter.

Edit: Cupholders! Lots and lots and lots of cupholders!

Idealized by trust fund SoyBoys everywhere, often parked by Mom's basement bedroom staircase.
You ever been in one? I got to Ride in a Mark LT in high school, that thing was sweeet. The entire back window was powered and could roll down.

At its core it was still an F150, but I wouldn't say no if someone offered me the keys to one...regardless of the soy level.

You say that like it's a bad thing. I know a lot of people who still have love for the Excursion. I think it would be kind of cool if Ford brought it back. You could utilize a SWB 2-door version to produce a fullsize bronco variant and have the LWB 4-door rock the Excursion name.
