Obviously the garbage factory tires have to go. I don't trust Bridgestone/Firestone to actually last anyway. Last time Ford sold me a vehicles with Bridgestone/Firestones the tires lasted under 1000 miles. yeah, it was 1998, but I'm still pissed.

The only load range C tire I can find is the Cooper Discoverer AT3 LT265/75R16.

I like Coopers, they last well, and last time I bought them they were made in the USA.

Lot more choices in size and brand if I go up to load range E though.

What am I missing? I don't want or need crazy M/T tires, 98% will be commuting to work, and the 2% offroad will be Arizona desert.

BFG Trail Terrain T/A come in standard load and the same size. They look to be pretty similar in usage and cost.

We have that Cooper tire on another vehicle. Good tire for our rural gravel roads and highway usage.

You might look at the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT SUV. It is not C or E rated but could be pretty good for 2% off road. I believe Mickey Thompson is now owned by Cooper. USA made and snow rated.
