Mabett Console Tray Modification

I bought the Mabett console tray because the factory tray is too small. The Mabett tray is great because it gives you more storage, the problem is that it’s very difficult to remove it to access the area below the tray. So I modified it to add a Paracord handle making it much easier to remove by simply drilling two holes and then tying knots in the Paracord below the tray.

Great solution! I was just pinching the center rib to pull it out, not very easy to do if you have items in the tray.

Yes! That was my frustration I knew I had to come up with something different

BTW, I cut out a little notch in the front passenger side that lines up with the groove for charging cords. I put a multiport USB charger in the console and run out a few cords for passengers to charge phones and such. Out of the box, this blocks that path.

I noticed that the Mabett tray needs that notch too. I was going to Dremel out the notch. Glad it wasn't just me that noticed that shortcoming. Other than that though, this tray is a big step up over the OEM tray.

I was going to get one of these awesome trays.... But GPS signal is sketch with my phone in the center console.
