Since there is some assembly required by the looks of it, maybe you can put something on the inside of the grill piece to block off some of the airflow around the edges?

Where I colored in red, but, on the inside before you clip it on, perhaps you put something on there to block it.
Hmmm, very interesting marketing point. I guess I won't worry too much about farting heavily on my deflector...
