Ok guys, just took delivery of my 2023 EG Badlands 4Dr a few weeks back. I was over the moon when I took it home from the dealer but now am starting to see some of the flaws.

So we recently had a rain storm by us and I noticed water in the cabin which seems to be coming from the A pillar area and seems to be a common problem which had a TSB but you would think that by 2023 the problem would not exist.

I decided to poke around a bit and see if by removing the tops I would be able to re-seat them. I removed the front drivers without any issue. When I got to the front passengers I noticed it did not free straight up like the Drivers. The stud close to the center of the car (where the latch is) was not releasing from the receiving hole. I then pulled the panel towards the outside of the car and it released. Upon re-installation I had the same issue and had to fight it a bit to get it all aligned and in.

In watching various you tube videos it almost seems that they are able to drop the panels straight in and remove them straight up as well. I wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this issue and if they have had any resolutions or this is by design.

You won't believe this, but there is another TSB for exactly this. The bracket those studs drop into needs to be realigned. Fucking insane these are still leaving the factory with these known issues.

Jeez. What a mess. I love the thing but am getting concerned with all the issues. So far I have grinding/scrapy manual trans, leaky A Pillar. And now a MisAligned top receiver.

Does anyone know the TSB number for the realignment?

I was referring to TSB 22-2288 which I have attached. It addresses moving the middle windshield brackets for hardtop fitment issues.

Awesome, thanks for this! I just made an account because the latch points in my new BD are extremely out of level and the driver's side panel is almost impossible to remove.

My wife took it in to the dealer this morning because I wasn't able to and the technician there told her it was normal for them to get stuck when they're new and they'll "loosen up" as we take them in and out.

Super helpful. Having this issue on my ‘22 base 4 door. It’s the passenger side that sticks each time I try and remove the panel. Hopefully the dealer doesn’t give me a hard time.

I'm having this exact issue. Panel will not come off at all. First sunny day since I got it a few days ago. Not excited about taking it to the dealer. If I can get it off I'll see if I can fix it myself.

Mine does it as well, however, it's not too difficult to release so I haven't worried about it.

Mine is fighting me something fierce. I obviously don't want to damage the panel. But I'm sliding it in every direction and it doesn't want to pop out.

The TSB seems to be strictly about uneven panels. I'll put the driver side back on and see if that an issue.

My passenger side has the same issue. Like you said I had to move it left/right to free it up.

I just took delivery of a '23 with roof racks, I thought at first it was just the roof rack being in the way, but it took 30 minutes to try and undo the piece on both sides that comes to the windshield in the middle where the pin is. Take it to the dealer?

Agreed, mine is the same. I'm shifting it all around, no luck.

My 2023 2Door has the same issue. Passenger side panel is stuck and will not come off. All the latches function normally but there is an obstruction with the front pin. I also have a significant air leak between this same panel and the rear section of the hardtop. Both my of windows rattle & the passenger side gets sucked out by the wind. I have an appt with a local dealer on the 20th (which took almost 2 months to get) so hopefully they can makes some improvements on the top. Unfortunately my expectations for the window improvements is low as the service specialist had no idea how to address window issues. (Facepalm). I plan to ask again.

My search for a competent shop near me in CO continues.
