I was going over our Bronco today and noticed some cracking in the paint on the roof. It’s fairly subtle, but it still makes me uneasy. I’m mainly concerned about possible wind noise or related issues.
My first thought was sun exposure. I also considered temperature changes. That said, the climate where I live is pretty mild. Summer temps are usually in the low to mid 90s, and winter lows are typically in the upper 30s. This winter has been even warmer than usual, with most nights closer to the mid 40s.
We do off-road, but we’re fairly careful. There’s very little heavy brush, branches rarely scrape the roof, and rock hits are extremely uncommon. That’s why this caught my attention and made me wonder if something else could be causing it.
Has anyone else noticed similar paint cracking on their Bronco roof? If so, what did it turn out to be. Normal body flex, a paint issue, or something else? Would love to hear your experience.
