Going back to the light and fast days perhaps. My era was the M151 jeep. No armor, hell not even a top or doors. With a M60 mount it could lay down some hate.
Let me add to that if I may...... No heat....
I must have been lucky gotten the modernized version...If I remember correctly it it had a single rope for a door.

I don't really see the utility of it....raids maybe? Very low threat environment movement to the objective? I guess they take the place of 5 tons to move troops, but you need one per squad, and they can't take it to the fight, so the squad dumps it when they get close.
Raids, reconnaissance... I can't imagine anything of significance can be mounted on this thing to provide good support by fire. I'd leave it in an ORP.

It might handle one of the "Airborne" 105mm's. They are stripped pretty light for air drops.
105mm you're probably right, definitely not a a one niner eight. probably not a 155
