Installed my Mishimoto catch can this morning. A bit more time consuming than I had originally anticipated but not bad. Had a couple of brain-stumpers that held me up so I'm here to help the rest out there with what I learned.

Follow the Mishimoto instructions with assembly of the catch can / bracket assembly. Mount the can and attach the hoses.
Next chock, emergency brake and jack up the driver front wheel. You're gonna want that sucker off for access.
Remove the wheel and fender liner. Not mentioned in the included install instructions. You'll then be able to see the air/oil separator attached to the driver side of the motor.
The return line is at the top of the motor, just inboard of the brake reservoir, between the 2 white fittings. Push the gray button and pull the fitting off. It should release easily. If not, push in while pressing the button. This will help you get the other side off.
Behind the steering shaft you'll see the lower fitting. Using a long reach trim tool with a hook on it, pull the small blue tab towards you as you pull the hose off. took me forever to figure out how the tab works. 1, because no one has mentioned it, 2, because you can't see it until it's off.
Once that's done connect the "in" coupler to the lower connection using long pliers to get in there and push it on. Connect the "out" coupler to the upper connection and put everything back together.
Total time with the few tips should be approx. an hour.
Hope this helps. Feel free to hit me up with any questions you may have.

This is the best post on 6G. Mishimoto instructions are for a standard transmission in the eco4. I ddi shorten the return (out) hose, but otherwise this was very helpful and kudos for getting those pictures via the wheel well. I never saw the connection but b/c of your post was able to do it blindly.

Hi Tanman. First time looking at the fender liner…what’s the best way to remove it/take out the clips? I feel like I’m going to snap each one! Thanks.

Forked trim tool or butter knife under the clips and a small Phillips screwdriver. Just put tension on the clips pulling them towards you. When the screw is about halfway out the clip will pull right out. You won't break them.

Thanks for the direction. I followed it and they came out beautifully! However, the 4 bolts are a different story...they seem to loosen but not come out. Are these also to be loosened and then pulled out? Feels like there is a nut or something on the other side. It just keeps turning.

Threaded spring clips behind them, they are threaded screw. They'll come out, they might be off center.

Finally got my catch can and installed last night. Was more of a pain in the ass than expected, especially the clips holding in the wheel liner. Tried to install without removing the wheel, don't bother it isn't worth it! I have 3,500 miles on the bronco and did have some oily residue come out when I removed the stock line. Mishimoto kit is very nice and comes with everything you need and appears to be very good quality.

Thanks for putting together the original post, was extremely helpful.

I have the Mishimoto catch can, but I've been holding off on installing it because a) the instructions don't match what I see in the engine bay and b) Sarah-n-tuned ran it off of the other PCV line (there are two according to the shop manual). Anyone have thoughts on this? I'm curious if/why it would matter which of the returns you utilize. I swear my PCV connection points, even with the great pics by op, don't match what I see on my 2.3 badlands manual transmission Bronco. Each time I read this post I go back and look under the hood and see different things. And if it's fine to use the other PCV line, that's a hell of a lot easier to access than the other one.

From what we've determined the manual, 10 spd advanced and 10 spd have different pcv setups. No idea why Ford would overly complicate this.

I was wondering about this also. My only other experience with a catch can was on my B58 BMW engine where it vented from the valve cover back into the intake. Of course not every engine is the same but I keep looking at this line and it seems to be doing exactly what I described on my B58. I can't find a proper digram of the 2.3l engine bay so I could be way off but it would be very annoying to think I have a catch can to protect my engine and it turns out there is another line. If someone from Mishimoto could tell me i'm being stupid it would certainly make me feel better.

Does that hook into the separator on the engine block?
