I think I found a new glitch that appears to be software related that impacts the windows. I have a '23 2-door WT. When I open the door, the window drops accordingly and goes back up when I shut the door - no problems. But if I open the door, start the vehicle, and then shut the door, it grabs on the window seal and sound like it's ready to break.

Here's a breakdown of what is happening:
  1. The door is opened and the window drops properly.
  2. Engine is started, with the door open, the window goes up, and then goes down a little - not the full amount.
  3. Door is closed, window catches the seals and then goes up fully.
Anyone experience this? Appears to be a software bug - i.e., ignore the engine start if/when the door is ajar. The door open/close should be the window trigger, not the engine. And if Ford wanted the engine to trigger the window, why drop it partially when the door is left open.

Thoughts?

My 22 goes in for chip clip and wiper motor software. I’m happy with the way windows work. Hopefully they don’t apply an update to change window opening like yours.

FWIW mine stay stationary (down) when starting with the door open...no movement up or down. Did you try the reset procedure to see if any difference?

I've owned many frameless cars, including my C7 Corvette right now.

The Bronco is the only vehicle that I've owned in two decades that has garbage engineering and design on the windows. Insane that Ford was content with them.

This happens to me too.

Example: My Corvette senses when the door is moving, whether opening or closing, partially opening, etc, and will make sure the window is in its correct position. I've never had an issue with the Corvette, or my previous Audis and Porsches.

Hi there! If you'd like to, go ahead and send us a private message with your VIN and dealer info and I’ll look into this window concern. Thanks!
