My Bronco rides like it's on a cloud now. The stereo sounds amazing and I'm ready for my first overland trip. Named Wild Bill after my father who passed away at 61.

Next up I'm getting 37s and some new rims. Roof Top Tent and a few other small items including the Ford Stage 1 performance flash. 42-inch Light bar and a few other lights.

Mods I have done so far.

Trailrax Rack - this is in my opinion the best rack out there. I looked at several other brands, all good, but I prefer this one.

JL Audio - I replaced all speakers with JL Audio including the sub. Here is what I used for the upgrade. JL Audio XDM800/8 was on sale for 699.00. SSV Works Pods to replace the rears. JL Audio C2-650X for the pods. JL Audio C2650 for the fronts. JL Audio 8W3v3-4 for the sub. B&O A2B/DSP Pkg w/Amp Bypass Harness for the DSP.

Sound Dampening - I can't tell you how much of a difference this makes.

ICON Vehicle Dynamics Stage 8 with IIC - This setup is expensive. I'm hoping it was worth it. I have not had a chance to take it in the dirt yet but riding around town is like being on a cloud. With the IIC you can change the ride from your phone or tablet.

Rough Country - Front and Rear Bumpers, hidden winch mount. I didn't want a huge bumper hiding the front of my Bronco. Rough Country bumpers are affordable and I think they look great. I like the step in the rear bumper. I also added the tailgate reinforcement.

All work was done at Prepped Overland except the stereo

JL Audio 8W3v3-4 for the sub.
Hi iambigd, could you tell us a bit more about the 8W3v3-4? The depth on the datasheet says 4.63in. Did you end up modifying the enclosure to get this to fit?

I didn't measure the depth, but it fit. I used a few self-tappers and the gasket that came with the sub, and it sealed just fine. I covered it in sound-dampening matt to keep it from vibrating, and so far, I have pushed it really high, and it sounds great. Keep in mind it's not two 15s in an enclosure, but for me, it's way better than it was.

Thanks iambigd for the info.

I was looking between the 8W1 and the 8W3. If the 8W3 fits, I'm thinking I'm going to try the same.

Just make sure you have enough AMP to drive it and I think you will be fine. If I had to do it all over I would have gone with the 8W1 and saved some money. I feel because of the enclosure size it wouldn't make much of a difference. I bought this one on sale from CrutchField which is why I went with this one.

Thanks. Have installed a moBridge class-D amp that claims 250W RMS / 500 W peak on the subwoofer channel which I think is suitable.

I was feeling a bit uncomfortable with the 8W1 and the lower RMS power rating. Slightly better excursion on the 8W3, as well ... not that I'll ever drive it that hard, the plastic enclosure, etc.

How has the Icon kit been treating you? Any offroading and, if so, what kind?

Great looking Bronco!

You are going to LOVE the Icon Stage 8 Suspension. In Normal Driving Mode I have mine set to 2 out of 10 for a very nice, smooth, soft ride. Swipe to the next screen on your phone and I have the G-Boost maxed out to 10 and the Corner Boost maxed out at 10. There is minimal squat and nose dive and minimal side to side as well. The harder you push it the more it reacts.

You can also adjust settings for Offroad and Towing.

A lifted Bronco on 37s is Not supposed to handle as it does. It's truly amazing! Many smiles per mile!

Enjoy
