I want to be able to crack the window for ventilation but protect against rain and bugs.
I saw someone make something similar to this, so here's my version. Made with corrugated plastic, no-see-um netting, e6000 glue, and gorilla all weather tape.
I saw someone make something similar to this, so here's my version. Made with corrugated plastic, no-see-um netting, e6000 glue, and gorilla all weather tape.
- I measured and cut out the general shape.
- I then used gorilla tape to make soft hinges for the vents to protect against rain coming in from the side. I used triangle pieces of tape for the other side of the hinges I didn't want to stick to anything. Doing it this way allows me to push the vents in for flatter storage.
- I cut out the netting and put along the back (inward side of the vehicle). I took sandpaper to rough up the plastic side and laid a bead of e6000 glue around the 4 vents and laid the netting into it and used a popsicle stick to push it all down.
- I then used more gorilla tape all around to just protect the edges and also overlap the netting edges
- For the bottom edge I folded the tape in a way to make a U shaped lip to hang onto the window glass
