This is Melissa, she's my 1966 Mustang coupe. I have had her since 1993. She was originally springtime yellow and was repainted with a cheapass paintjob while I was in boot camp. She's a 289 2bbl with straight pipe exhaust and glasspacks.
I drove her from 1994 to 1998 when I bought a Porsche 924s. She then became my wife's daily until around 2000 when her dad built her a Blazer. She then went and sat in his yard for a while until we brought her to NY in 2002. We kept her in storage in the winter there and drove a little here and there. She then got transported to GA and I drove her occasionally until she started having major fuel issues. I have had horrible luck getting functional 2bbl carbs but finally, after many years of waffling about whether to sell her or try to restore her, we jumped on it.
We started a couple years ago and went hard for a while, then we bought a 2nd house and put all our effort into that. I have to say getting the bronco has made me want to work on her again as the DIY aspect of modding the bronco has made me hungry.
Work done so far:
Every body panel out
All glass out
Drivers door replaced (bad bad bondo job by previous owner)
Trunk replaced (too much rot to continue)
Cowl replaced (it was roached)
Rear quarter patch cut but not welded yet
Rot around fenders cleaned, sealed (will be covered by flares)
Mustangs to fear body kit (fender flares, skirts, front end)
Shelby scoop
Full carpet replacement
Every interior panel sound deadened with noico foam and asphalty stuff
Mass loaded vinyl on all floor, fenderwells and trunk
New seat covers and bolsters
New door panels
New dash pad
Complete wiring harness
LED lights all around
MTF solid headliner which we added fiber optics, dome light and alcantara
suede visors
Painted gage needles neon green
Aluminum radiator and overflow with fan
fan controller with multi speed
Proper windshield washer reservoir
Right before Christmas a guy posted a Holley EFI kit complete with fuel tank and internal pump for the price of the sniper EFI so I picked that up
