Mysterious noises from Bronco when not running

Yep... just the various servos on the engine re-positioning or providing feedback to ECU.

No idea why it does it for so long after it's shutdown though!

I hang out in my garage quite a bit, and I've noticed that after I shut the Bronco off and leave the vehicle, after a while, it will make noises (sounds like the door locks). I'm talking like ten or more minutes after the vehicle has been turned off. I swear it happened even after like an hour. Is this normal?

Stupid question but any mice rats in your vehicle? I can tell you a story about just that in my Ford Ranger no lie.

Do you guys have the keys close to the Bronco when it does that?

It happens to me but I have the key on my pocket.

I've tried it with the keys close by and with them far away in the house. Same thing.

Thank you everyone for the sanity check. I was worried that I had some electrical gremlin. Over 2100 miles so far and everything has been running great! (knocks on wood).

I found that mine got much worse once I installed my trailer brake controller. Not sure if you have one installed, but it seems to me like it’s a brake check or similar. Self diagnosis that never seems to stop.

Mine does the same thing. So does my GT 500. I'm waiting for Optimus Prime to show up.

All 32 Broncos at the Moab Off-Roadeo do it as well, so it must be normal.

completely normal. My Bronco and 22 Explorer ST are both in the garage clicking for quite a while after turning off.

It's just Ford remotely accessing your vehicle and pulling all the data from it - location, status, mileage, how fast you drove, where you went, how much you spent, etc.

Nothing to worry about.
