Thought I'd post a couple of hacks that I've done to change some annoying things on the bronco. Anyone else have any?

Disable the double honk when exiting with the engine running

  • Make sure Bronco is off and at rest
  • Hold lock and unlock buttons down on the key fob 3 seconds until lights blink twice
  • Release both buttons
  • Press lock button

No more stupid double honk!

Update on the double honk. It still does do it when I close the door. I could have sworn that I tested that the other day. I guess this goes forscan bin 😬

Disable seatbelt alarm (because who wants to hear ding, ding in their driveway?)
  • Make sure the Bronco is off and at rest
  • Turn ignition on into accessory mode (do not start the engine)
  • Wait 5 or more seconds and clear any warnings/messages on the screen
  • Buckle and unbuckle the seat you want to disable 4 times at a 'moderate' speed
  • Seatbelt warning light should illuminate
  • Buckle and unbuckle one more time - seatbelt light should blink
Some notes:
  • The last 3 steps all need to be completed in 30 seconds or less
  • This comes from the supplimental owners guide Page 23. However, it forgot to mention clearing any alerts/warnings prior to starting the buckle/unbuckle sequence (see part in italics above)
  • Repeat procedure for all seats you want to disable
  • Use the same procedure to toggle the warning back on

For now, I've only disabled the fronts to make sure the kid is buckled up when in the back, but it's supposed to work for all seats.

You, sir, are my hero. I have been too lazy to do FORSCAN, but I despise that stupid double honk. Thank you!

AZMikeL - You ever make to Central Ohio beers on me (and my neighbors) who don't have to think I am trying to get attention every time I pull out of the garage and run back into the house.

Dude! Will these last? I mean, you don't have to do this each time you start?

Can you make the annoying "welcome" to Ford buling buling buling.... thing go away on start up? Can't stand that.
