So with all that is needed, what is total cost to get a winch on a Bronco? Seems pretty extreme for this entire setup. I'm not trying to knock this product, but trying to evaluate the "total" a person would be out of pocket just to have a winch. What is the intercooler and ACC relocation cost? How much for your kit? How much for the winch? Are front camera and parking sensors needing relocation as well? You get the point I'm trying to make.
Can you read? Tyson literally answers every single one of these questions in the first post between the prices, explainations and photos...

I honestly like this setup quite a bit. I did something similar with my winch mount and discussed it in detail in my thread. Hammerbilt makes this probably the easiest hidden winch install, since no grinding or cutting is involved. The trickiest part of the whole process is either removing the OEM headlights for the first time or installing the dang rivenuts. Both are more paletable than taking a grinder to the broncos frame IMO.

I love your design... I really was leaning toward a copy of what you have done when Alex showed up on the thread and said... OH I can make it easier for you... Yes It is going to cost me a tiny bit more than doing it myself but not much... and well... So much easier on me... Grey, you paved the way dude!.... credit to you.

Yes Alex is posting under Tyson's name..... Imposter... so is this really Hammer built??? LOL... So far my impression of Alex is he seems like a good guy that knows his shit.... Does some studying too....

Personally, as I outfit my bronco, I didn't want to end up with the random overlanding junk everywhere look. Functional mods while retaining some of that clean stock Bronco aesthetic.
This 100% is the winch setup I was waiting for. Also I've got too many expensive hobbies keeping me broke, so I guess I'll still be waiting!

 I appreciate it. There are aspects about mine that I prefer, but mines honestly a bit of a pain for the first install. This one also keeps more room for the radiator, where I had to space my radiator up to get room. The inverted mount really allows for the most effective use of the space.

Its also a bit reassuring that when I tallied up what I would expect a full kit to cost to replicate mine it is right in line with what HB is charging. (accounting for the difference in winch MSRP).

I was paying attention to that little bump in height and that tiny tilt for the radiator. I was literally writing notes. And yes, your guess at an MSRP was very good. I was calculating in my head my costs locally based on what I could do and what I needed help with since I do not have my own fab shop (although I know some guys).... LOL.... I like the back brace they are welding on this, should really stiffen for the lateral portion of loading. I am a bit concerned about the exposure to a hammered front skid... May have to weld on some stiffeners in the back of the skid like the ones you did for your plate.

I love this!!!

I hate that I do, because I already have the RC setup so I'm sitting out the first batch, but... money has started to burn a hole in my pocket. 😂

^^^Those shock reservoirs don't look "high clearance" to me.

Great engineering and you made the "hard choice" with the short drum, but I think that's the best way to go to achieve a high clearance hidden winch, outstanding.

Hey all! I had the privilege of installing this hidden winch mount on my Bronco and I could not be happier with how it turned out! From the time Alex first started mentioning the possibility, I knew it was the answer to repeatedly smacking my previous winch mount on ledges and climbs. That winch served its purpose, but I wanted more clearance.

Alex and HammerBuilt really did a great job on this project, all around!

I opted for the Wagner high mount intercooler, as I did not have ACC to relocate. That kit is a little more DIY in that there are currently no instructions (I believe Wagner is working on that) and the hoses (for the 2.3L) needed to be cut to length. There are actually some great threads in 6G where others already figured that out and have some great pictures of their installation.

I put a custom touch on my install and modified my Warhorse Bronco light mount to accept the winch remote plug and mounted the rocker switch (another winch control input provided by MileMarker) in the cubby in front of my gear shifter. That allows for winch operation without needing to dig out and connect the wired remote.

HammerBuilt also had the clever idea to mount a light above the winch drum so you can take a peek and see how the line is spooling. I wired that to come on when the winch power is on.

The installation was straight forward, but definitely takes some time from start to finish.

Again, I am super happy with the end result and Alex, and the team, was great to work with! If you are looking for the highest clearance winch option out there, I believe this is it.

Stop... there's only so much logic and properly detailed installation pics I can take before I forget I'm on the internet. 😂

I get your point. I think the buyer of this is willing to spend to resolve the issues/compromises, but IMO also sees the intercooler as something that provides a benefit (even if required) and not just an additional expense. For those who were thinking about getting the intercooler anyway, the cost of the winch-specific items is much more palatable.

If I were to get a winch setup, I would go this route, but I’m not sure I really need one, especially at this total cost of ownership. For people like me (and maybe you, if I’m right), probably a rear hitch-mounted setup would work best for us. Low cost overall, no weight up front, no clearance issues, only put it on when you need it.

Have you confirmed if this will work with the capable bumper? It looks like you've done the analysis on the airflow/cooling risks for both bumpers?

Well for the modular bumper AND the capable bumper the air inlet for the intercooler is in the same place right???? That is where the fairlead goes.... same place on any bumper (stock or aftermarket) that has the air inlet for the stock intercooler positioned in the stock location.

No need to do any analysis on air flow because the companies that offer the high mount intercoolers have already done that. Lots of people have just been mounting the high mount intercoolers simply to get cooler induction air (more power) because they are oversized. That larger size requires that they mount higher to fit. The kit kills two birds with one stone. Better intercooler = more power, now more space between the frame rails for a short drum winch... WIN, WIN!!!!
