So I have been lurking for a bit and finally pulled the trigger and reserved my Bronco (Otter Banks) yesterday. I immediately get a call from the dealership in Scottsdale wanting me to come in, run credit, covert the reservation, and pay an additional deposit of $1,000. They told me if I don't do it their way, "my order will be pushed aside." I was told that mine wouldn't get delivered until 2022 (and be a 2022 model) but they want everything done now. Seems out of line considering what everyone else is experiencing. Am I missing something?

Normal dealer pressure to get you locked in now so you don't change dealers when you find out they are shady.

I cancelled my reservation (no big deal since it was only yesterday) and switched dealers.

Your converted order also helps their final allocation. You converting your order now only helps them. You're definitely getting a 2022 so just tell them you want to wait until the 2022 ordering opens over the summer.

Or, do your research, call around and see if there's a dealer that will treat you better.

just FYI, you can move a single reservation twice without canceling, you just call Ford. Not that you’re losing much space at this point, but just so you don’t go through it again in a couple weeks.

Yeah as others have said just find another dealer, no reason to put up with that high pressure BS... you're going to be MY22 regardless of when you convert at this point if you just reserved and should be able to find a dealer that won't require additional deposit
