I have read about all the issues with the OEM hardtop- for anyone that has painted it (I know that’s a challenge in itself) do you regret the decision to paint it a year + later?

My neighbor had her hardtop sanded and painted to match the Oxford white color - it looks excellent after 2 years. Wish I had a pic to share. She’s had no issues.
Awesome, thank you!!!!!

Thanks! I have a talented person up for the challenge that I trust. I read a few threads where people mentioned they had it done and some mentioned the process is difficult because there is a lot of prep involved but most curious on what happened over time. One of the issues I read about is the “bubbling” of the hardtop from moisture. It seems to me that paint would create a seal if it was done properly- so I'm curious if that is the case or if the bubbling still occurred and caused issues with the painted top. I tried to find a thread with a number of different search terms to see if anyone had comments about their experience after some time passed but couldn’t locate anything.
There's really only been a few that have painted and posted the process but same, I haven't read or seen any issues posted up that they had issues. It boils down to making sure you have someone that does whatever prep work correctly for proper adhesion of the paint and then of course a MIC that is issue free from any cracks/snake skinning/bubbles that might show up after the fact.

Mine is over year old and looks great .
Painted the grill too with no issues.
Local friend who owns a body shop did the work and I am very happy.

How much do you charge you for painting the top in the grill

Such a troll/bot account (or maybe simply a #tool). Spelling out OEM, adding "Ford" to the Bronco description in case anyone needed clarity, and "known" chip/fade problems (those are not the primary complaints with the factory top).
OK, I thought I was losing my mind on here recently with bot accounts and just weird way of writing.

Why would there even be a bot on here posting nonesense?

Click on "his/her/it's" profile and their one other post. It's 100% a "conversation starter" hype post.

Just looked. As you said.

Are these bots used by the owners of this site to get us posting more? Like wtf are these things ?

Maybe traffic is slowing on the site after the initial buzz of first deliveries and the like.

Any reputable body shop should be able to paint the hard top without issue. Go for it.

Man I don’t know that’s kinda like playing Russian roulette to me, figure that job with all the prep work is probably a couple grand IF there’s a problem with the mic afterwards you’re screwed and out a lot of money no way ford will warranty it after being painted, which sucks because imo there should be a color matched option from the factory
