Hi everyone. Just curious if anyone has any other information to the contrary, but my OEM soft top on my '21 Bronco (4-door) was heavily damaged in a wind storm recently. I've been told by several dealers that to order a new one to replace it, there are 2 part numbers:

M2DZ7853000BC - the frame portion (about $13,000)
M2DZ7852700BD - the twill portion (about $800)

Therefore, the cost of a new OEM soft-top is $13,800+. Can anyone confirm if they have come across this issue? I assumed (mistakenly) that a replacement OEM soft top would have been $3,000-$4,000, not nearly $14,000.

That’s correct retail price. You can find it cheaper online though.

I'm in the same boat. Looking for alternatives, but really do like the way that the rear of the OEM soft top props open for cargo area access... Don't like it enough to pay the OEM prices though!

It sounds bizarre that the cost would be that much, since the option to get hard & soft on a new Bronco is about $3,000. That would mean rather than buying the new soft top for $14,000, you should buy a new Bronco for $50,000 with the hard & soft option. Put the new soft top on the old Bronco, and then sell the new Bronco for approximately $50,000. (y)

It's all about resource constraints. Every top they sell as an OEM part from the dealer is one they can't put on a new Bronco coming off the factory floor. Thus, they have to make the ridiculous profit margin somewhere.

The Bestop is about $2000 and well worth it. It doesn't fold up like the OEM soft top does, but it looks and fits much better.

Then why is the dual top option so cheap?

Because in this case, they're making their profits on the sale of a $50k vehicle. One fewer top is one fewer vehicle they can sell.

People would by the HE without the extra top for $1350. It's obvious the soft top isn't a constraint.

If they are willing to sell a soft top to pair with a hard top on a new Bronco purchase for an extra $2,000 or so, then they should sell them in the aftermarket for roughly the same amount. Put another way, assume a new Bronco buyer drives off the lot and only purchased the hard top. 5 minutes earlier he could have added a soft top for the $2,000, but now that he’s driven the Bronco 100 feet in the parking lot, if he changes his mind and goes back to buy the extra soft top, he’s gonna get charged $14,000. 😂

$14,000 is the piece by piece price. There's a lot of savings in not having to deal with shipping, packaging, and handling prices that need to appear in the $4000 price. At the factory ford literally just throws a soft top in the back of the 4 door and poof they're done for the dual tops.

If buying that one, does anyone know all the part numbers for everything else you need?

Assume side and rear windows? What part numbers are those?

Then trim covers
M2DZ-7831288-BA
M2DZ-7831289-BA

And bolts?
W707288-S442
Yeah. Looks like it sold.
