Ahhh, yes! The little oil catch pan on the Expedition, with razor sharp edges. What a pain that was….there is a pretty long plastic drip tray built under the oil filter that is designed to move the residual oil about a foot or so to where it clears the suspension parts. They don't clean it off very well. Expeditions have them also. Pain in the butt after driving in rain as well with residual on the garage floor.
The 2.7 has the filter on top, easy to get to, and if you open it slowly, you don’t get oil everywhere. Obviously a design error!
