Sometimes I wonder if we get too caught up in a vehicle's specs on paper. As has been said by others more than a few times, so much depends on our own ability and getting the experience we need off road. Easy to forget what four wheel vehicles with far less capability than current models could do back in the day.

Yes we do it with everything. I literally just came in the house after walking around my Frontier thinking why the hell do I think 33” tires and this truck won’t do more than I’ll ever need? This is the first thread I opened when I came in.

There were some concerns that the 2.3 engine wouldn't be strong enough to turn the 35" Sasquatch tires.

When I was 18-20 years old I drove a '55 Willys that I converted to 12v , put a fastback soft top , roll bar and 15" wheels with 33' tires that would go anywhere . It wasn't a pleasant daily driver but it never let me down .

So cool. Thanks for keeping us humble and putting things in perspective.

Side note: I wish they had used this music for all the Bronco advertising!! It feels so fun haha. Like 80s street detective!

EDIT: found it!!!

Sorry, meant to turn my sarcasm font on and it was in reference to the other thread where everybody is complaining about the winch covering up the front camera.

Remember, all those roads around Moab were pioneered by uranium miners driving this very vehicle.

Similar note, remember Early Broncos had 28" tires, 200hp (if you opted for the V-8), open 3.50:1 axles, a 3.34:1 first gear and a 2.47:1 Transfer case and they were the gold standard on these trails. Even a Base new Bronco with no options will have 30" tires, 270hp, 3.73 axle with traction control, a 4:28:1 first gear (not counting the 6.58 crawler)(4.71 w/auto), and a 2.74:1 transfer case....we'll be fine.

@Charky

For this issue I'm actually innocent. I'm blown away by how the off-roading technology helps even a basic 4x4. I off-roaded Humvees and some 6x6s before and thought they were the end all be all but now I am understanding how much fun I'm going to have! I'm thrilled. My wife almost even cares and she was highly resistive to a Bronco at first.
