That’s my plan. BFG K02. What I’ve had on every 4x4 I’ve ever owned.
Nice! Exact set up I’m thinking.

@TX Banker per Ford’s website the OBX has an 18” 255/70R18 All-Terrain A/T (32”) combo - what tire specs are you thinking?

The leak from the pricing survey was sweet

Only $1600 for the big motor, only $1200 for high package!

That's a bargain

Same here. If I keep them as comparable as possible

BB + Mid + hard Top + Auto

OBX + Hard Top they are within 1800 of each other if I did my math right.

Is that extra bit of dough worth it for the better lighting, grille, 18" wheels etc
Same here. I was firmly BB, but was adding mid and auto. Getting a 2 door, so it's already a hard top. I come up with the same $1800 difference. I know I'd end up buying side rails, so now I'm down to about a $1500 difference for the niceties, and I'm leaning toward it's worth it. I think I'm perfectly content with an OBX with no add-ons.

A 275/65R18 compares nicely. Maybe a 265/70R18. I’ll have to check and see what the common sizes are in that area. Interested in the “high lift” package as well. That would allow for more clearance.

Buying this for my son to eventually have, so he’s making all the calls. So far:

Bronco 4-door Outer Banks $41,450
2.3 Turbo/auto - Standard
Hard top - $700
Cyber orange - Add’l charge?
High package - $1200
Navy Pier cloth/leather - Option
High lift - Option
Roof rack - $400
K02s - Aftermarket

From a previous post asking about 33" on the OBX... "if you plan to mount 33" on the Outer Banks you'd probably do best to go up to the optional 4.27:1 rear axle ratio instead of standard 3:73:1 to offset the engine RPM drop with the larger tires. You want torque curve to be in the right place during low-speed ops."

Thoughts?

I was overall ok with the pricing.

I will be getting the 2.7, high package, and a modular roof for sure.

The rest will depend on what all it includes like the tow package for example.

For those thinking about 33"ko2s...

For reference - OBX Stock - Bridgestone Dueller A/T RH-S 255/70/18 (32.1") - $170/ea on tirerack (on sale)

Badlands (keep in mind this is for a 17" wheel) - BFG TA KO2 LT285/70/17 (32.7") - $258/ea

Resizing Badlands KO2s to fit 18", it looks like i need to stepdown from a 285 to 275...LT275/70/18 = 33.2" - $253/ea

Am i thinking about that right? Need to go from 285 to 275 for the 18"? And keep the 70 aspect ratio. Not sure if that will fit well with stock gearing/suspension.

Goal is to get something with a beefier tread and better visual appearance without overdoing it. This is will be the family SUV / road tripper, so do not want MPG or ride quality to be noticeably deteriorated.

It’ll be more than noticeable. You’ll have more sidewall AND a more aggressive tread/sidewall.

Originally selected Outer Banks, was going with Black Diamond but now thinking Outer Banks again after seeing the survey prices. I didn't see it mentioned in here but did the survey mention anything about the cost of adding a rear locker?

no...it also didnt include the added cost of leather. And honestly, i think there may have been a minor error of the V6 being only $1,600. It is $1,900 for all other trims when you backed out the cost of the auto tranny. Not sure if it was a typo and 6 should have been 9.

it didn't specifically state, but the sasquatch cost difference between the OB and BD was $500. So one could speculate that is the rear locker difference as it's standard on the BD.

I am thinking 275/70/18. Should fit no problem. My F150 has the 255/70/18 now and it’s just under 32”. I am definitely on the OBX bandwagon. I am going rear locker and the lower optional gear ratios. I am willing to bet that combo with a good all terrain tire will get me everywhere I am willing to go. With the slightly bigger/more aggressive tires and the modular bumper, it will loose a bit of the mall crawler look too.
