I have a small hole in my muffler. Could this be a rust hole that broke through from sitting with condensation in the muffler?

Not having one to compare, this doesn’t look like rust, but intentionally put there to drain condensed moisture out of the muffler.

That's a cleanly drilled hole.

It's there to allow condensation to drain out as you can see from the staining. Normal stuff.

ok thanks for the confirmation - I was thinking the same - just odd it did not look like it was centered or anything, just kind of random. The scratching is from my trying to confirm that it really was a hole.

That’s a weep hole quite common in exhaust systems.

Notice how the OP associated the weep hole as a negative with dirt mountain. This is what Bronco6g does to you at a subconscious level.

Even the muffler was said to know it was attached to a machine sitting on Dirt Mountain :D

Somebody stole your muffler fluid! Just joking. I usually see weep holes at the back of the muffler, but with the chambering design and what not, this may be a better place for it. Burning gas makes a lot of water which condensates in mufflers until they come up to temperature.
