What were you airing down to when you had a problem keeping the bead?
Anything under 20 psi was questionable. I like 10-15 depending on tire and terrain.

235/85/16 on my 66 project. It will get a lot of highway time so I didn't go aggressive on tread.

Sand is about the only place skinnies are not good.
...and, maybe deep hardpacked snow. But driving on that is a fools errand...it's not if you will break through, but when.

I'm planning on 235/85R16 Cooper AT3's, and I'll potentially paint the base model steelies black.

I run these on my Wrangler, I see they are also available in 255/85 x 16.

If I end up getting a BD non squatch, but somehow get the locked 210 up front I will very seriously consider going with these 34x10.50r16s LTBs. I figure they will look and perform perfect with the 2" lift kit. If I cant get it built like that I will end up squatched or badlands and move toward 36x12.50r17 TSL SXs.

I have them on my Wrangler (235/85 x 16) and F250 (275/70 x 18) very happy with performance, although I have a thump, thump on the F250 @ 50mph I haven't figured out. If you get the MAXX or XLT version it has sidewall protection. They have it in 255/85 x 16 which I wish I had known for the Jeep, true 33" tire.
Thank you!

not yet... I took the easy way out when presented an offer I couldn't refuse on a new/take-off set of Black Diamond wheels/tires/tpms from my dealer.

These currently have 67k miles on them (surprisingly look fantastic; five tire rotation every 5k miles).

Before my bronco was built, I sourced these wheels (Nissan 16x7 wagon wheels, +40mm offset (these are spare wheels from '99-04 Frontier/Xterra/Pathfinder models).

I didn't mount them initially - I need to get a spacer made (less than 1/8") for the fronts so it will clear the front brake caliper (rear calipers are smaller).

So my upcoming decision is get replacement 17" tires for my BD steelies, or get off my butt and get spacers and pizza cutters for these 16" wagon wheels :)
