I had the Procal Ford Performance tuner installed at the dealer today. I was told that if the dealer installed it would not void my warranty. The tech told me that was not the case. The install was quick but after I set up my Ford Performance account, the email to confirm would not come through. Then after the install I was not able to log into my account, the Ford help desk said that they could see that it was installed but the tech was unable to get the second authorization. After a couple of hours dicking with the help desk and providing proof of purchase he was able to obtain a code under his dealer account. After I left the dealer I did not notice any real improvement in performance, I also read that after the install that my Auto Stop would be deactivated if I had it deactivated it when I shut off the vehicle, so far that is not the case, any one have any advice? I am going back to the dealer in the morning to review the install

This was removed last summer for MY23 and newer, unfortunately.

It is kinda hard to tell if the Tune file is installed now that this is gone. Best I've been able to come up with is to use the Box and re-install the Performance Calibration if you are in doubt.

I ~think~ if you go to Module Info, it shows the VIN and engine and such, one of the parameters there is SW. If the SW number ends in PC, I think the cal is installed, but I haven't confirmed this by reverting back to stock tuning to verify.

I can tell you that I am all about performance and if this tuner is installed it is a very minimal upgrade and I am sorry I paid close to $1,000 to purchase and install it. I have Forscan and the ASS wire harness to delete the ASS but I was hoping to do it with the Tuner.

Forscan won't work on most models MY22 and newer either. You would need the ASS harness.

For the uplift in performance - I know the 2.7 doesn't lift up quite as much as the 2.3, in my 2.3 is is fairly noticable... but do make sure you are running Premium fuel. You won't get much without that.

The Ford tune is fairly mild, as tunes go. If you are all about performance you may have better luck with one of the other kits that actually allows you to do some tuning. ProCal you get what you get, and that's it. Other kits, like JB4 and others, actually let you adjust maps and go more aggressive if you dial in the octane.

Oh, thought of one way you can tell - smash the accelerator down the road while watching the Gagues panel on the IPC. Without the tune, the turbo will cap out around 17 psi (it may flicker above but the blowoff will bring it right back down). With the tune, it will cap at 21 psi.

2.7 won’t make as much boost as the 2.3
If I remember correctly, even with the fp tune I think the 2.7 topped out at 18ish

I am running Premium fuel and I will try the boos measure, Thanks!

FORScan took out the ASS on my 22….by the way, Ducati, if you were recommending, would you suggest the FRP OR some other brand? Just wondering….

It really depends what you’re looking for. There’s everything from mild to wild.
The FP tune is pretty mild but has the benefit of the better transmission strategy. Whipple is probably similar, I’ve never used it.

I think the JB4 typically picks up more power than both of those, plus you can kind of pick and choose when you want to use it. Plus it’s completely untraceable

Then if you want to go all out (and you have a 2.7/3.0) @ZFGracing is by far the best tune in my opinion. It’s a night and day difference between this and the other regular handheld tuners available. Makes far more power, removes either a large majority or all of the torque management and has completely custom transmission tuning.

Sorry about your bad experience. It doesn't sound like they got the tune loaded. I have a MY23 and the ASS does stay off. I didn't notice a big deference in power but there is a slight improvement in the throttle response and shifting. I think you would at least notice the new shifting strategy if it was loaded properly.

Watching this thread as I'm contemplating going with the same tune. If the tune was correctly installed, I would expect for it to at least be noticable. They advertise 355hp and 433ft/lb, which is an increase of 25hp and 18ft/pd. It wouldn't be earth shattering, but I'd expect to notice that kind of increase.

Installed the tune this weekend. I have noticeable, but not earth shattering difference in power. ASS stays off (23 wildtrak). As everyone else has noted, shift points vastly improved as well. Someone on one of these threads stated this should be the stock tune. Agree completely.
