Hello all,

I recently installed the FPP ProCal on my 2.3L BD and I’ve noticed that the dreaded auto start feature still needs to be turned off manually even though the tune is supposed to make it so it stays off once you turn it off.

Does it only do that when in sport mode?

I confirmed the tune did install properly since it does say “remove performance tune” when I check the tunes page

Unfortunately it seems that functionality has been removed from the package.

Ah alright, that’s unfortunate.
Yup, it went away this past June/July, along with 7MT rev matching, because it's no longer part of Ford's Strategy. Whatever that means.

I just installed the FFP tune this past Monday on my 2.7 and the A.S.S. disable is working. I run in normal mode if that makes a difference but when I get in the truck and start it, it's turned off. I did not click on the "update" button in the software when I did the installation, it asked if I wanted to update PIDs and I said yes and some other thing it wanted to update so I said yes. But I didn't click on the update button itself.

Mine is showing Procal version 2.214
The title on the software shows V2.971

Edit: I saw in another post from a couple months ago someone had version 2.118 so mine appears to be a newer version which makes me think it is up to date.

I also installed my ProCal last week (11/24) and the ASS stays in whatever mode I leave it in. Works as expected.

Did you not update the calibrator? From what I’ve seen and read if you update it the feature will not work.

Looks like you have a '24. For '23+ I believe Ford tied the battery management system to ASS so the only way to disable is to also disable BMS (which you don't want to do). I'm guessing this is why they also removed it from the ProCal for all years and models.

Initially the PROCAL tune disabled the auto-start-stop feature. This tune was not certified in California. To get CA certification, disabling auto-start-stop feature was removed. All subsequent versions AND updates remove the delete...

Can anyone confirm which version number the A.S.S. disable goes away?

If your rig is the 2021 in your profile - the recent changes only affected MY23 and newer. So you would be safe from the removal of features -- at least this round.

It is indeed the same rig.

I don't know how to see which version number you have installed. Mine on my unit is about a year old and still has ASS/Rev Matching. All I can see with it though is the ProCal version and some Ford number - which I don't think is the same thing as the tune file revision. There's also a Ford part number for the engine SW, DLCM, and Steering Rack (I'm assuming the P/N of the file pulled from the server, not the hardware itself) -- but no version number, unless that P/N has the revision integrated into it (and again, I'd fall back to not knowing how to interpret that)

You can't downgrade if you have a newer file, or chose from various files, which is the crappy part. If you connect your dongle to the laptop and allow it to update, you get whatever is current on their server.

I heard the switchover occured in June/July - but can't confirm that date, nor can I confirm version numbers.

So that makes me wonder if the updated tune is actually looking at the production date of the vehicle to determine if A.S.S. disable is allowed. My base Sas is an early 2023 (looks like Jan 20th) build and the Procal is disabling the A.S.S. so I'm not complaining. But there has to be some rule or reason to why some trucks don't work (I get the 2024 not working but 2023 seems to be a mix).
