I just recently got the pro cal tuner and I’m looking for a mount that I can put on my BYOD mount from archetype racing. Has anyone found something that might work?

Does it need to stay plugged in? I’m assuming yes but not sure. Thank youI'm not sure I see the value in mounting the device. I keep mine in the glove box to read a CEL if I get one, but that's about it. I didn't find a lot of value in the gauges, especially the poor display and visualization options (comparing to using the iOS app for my JB4 on another vehicle), and once you program the tune for the engine or the steering rack, the device isn't really useful. Like if you wanted to change tire size, you can grab that thing and do it, but then there's no need to keep it out.

No. There is no OFF switch, so it just stays on, forever........Does it need to stay plugged in? I’m assuming yes but not sure. Thank you

- Ford updates your tune, and you want to apply that.As others note, it does not need to stay connected. You plug it in and run the write script, it overwrites 6 blocks of data in ECU, then it’s done. You unplug device and toss it in toolbox and may never grab it again.
reasons to plug it back in:
- you got a severe duty steering rack and want to program it, and your vin is in their db correctly (ha!) - plug it in, run that write job, disconnect and you’re done again.
- you got bigger tires and want to correct your Speedo. Plug it in, do the thing, unplug it and put away again.
- you get a displayed CEL, you want to read the code and maybe clear it.
They do update the tune every once in a while. No reason to go back through any certifications for changing small things.I don’t think update the tune itself or they’d have to go back through the various certifications.
