Wrangler JL also has no auto wiper option, I was told its because its an off-road vehicle and in the mud... You don't want your wipers to activate by themselves.
makes no sense. intermittent wipers are a setting.

you have that setting along with on/off and speed if on. if i was mudding you turn off/on or on-low speed as needed, not intermittent

It's not so much the turning on and off, but more so constantly having to adjust the speed while in traffic. I had an '01 M5 and '02 M3 which both had the feature and it was awesome! My current DD of 5+ years doesn't have it and I still miss it every time it rains.
I was literally wondering the other day if anyone else has the exact same combination of cars as me.

Apparently you do. 01 LMB E39 M5 + 2dr badlands sasquatch.

Thought that was weird and rare enough to comment.

Interesting. I might need to play around with this a little. If the setting is there, I wonder how deep that goes.

Automatic wipers is something I will miss when I trade in my MINI. It's pretty handy, just see rain and hit a button. Wiper speed is completely controlled by the system, no need to fiddle with intermittent/high/low/off/back on again/high/off/etc... Just push the button, and the wipers are managed by the computer.

Is it too difficult to just reach for the wiper button and turn them on when it's raining?
Actually it depends on the situation. I was off-roading when I got a bunch of mud and water blocking my view, and I had to move the hand out of the steering wheel to activate the wipers. It was no ok.

Same here, replaced my 2015 hardtop for my 22 outer banks. The auto feature was so nice.
