Here's a picture of the 20 degree CBI sliders on my Tacoma for a little more perspective.

I think not only is 20 degrees a little steep if you're going to use them as steps and sliders, I also think you'd be losing a lot of surface area to step on with them being that much closer to the body.

Maybe RCI could offer a 12.5 degree option to satisfy all of us stuck in the middle

I just sent them a message in their Sponsor thread asking for a 12-13 slider/step

Great conversation with RCI (Evan) today and he shared some pics of 20 degree sliders. For reference the top down view/dimension is only .25ā€ different between 5 and 20 degree slider.

So have you decided to stick with the 20 degree?

Iā€™m gonna stay with 20ā€¦I figure the .25ā€ is irrelevant and the protection of 20 is better

She decided that she wants to go with 20 degrees as well, so weā€™re changing ours from 5 to 20 degrees.

Both are sliders but I think 20 will do better to maneuver off something, whereas 5 is more of a step and would function as a slider but could catch easier than 20 IMO. I donā€™t plan to use sliders as sliders very often but Iā€™d rather be safe than sorry..Never know what you might encounter in Mother Nature.

I just ordered these and realized I should have asked; Do these require any drilling? I'm not comfortable doing that yet. Realize I should have asked before just pulling the trigger.

From their website:

  • Direct bolt on addition to existing mounting locations, no drilling required
Although there were some early models that were missing one hole that would have to be drilled if it isn't there from the factory, this is explained on the second page in the directions.

Is it common to order and not get any kind of response beyond the PayPal payment? I purchased these recently and haven't heard a word beyond that PayPal receipt.
They've been really responsive for me, send emails confirming order immediately and also when status changes. I can also view the status of my order on their website.

Hopefully they're just busy building my sliders :)

We need a fellow 2 doorer to head to Loveland ASAP!
Iā€™m flying to Granger on the 10th to pick up my 2Door. As time allows I will 100% offer my vehicle to them.
