Hello, everybody. I’m the proud owner of a 2022 Wildtrak that I bought about 9 months ago used. I’m quickly approaching the 50k mileage mark. The maintenance schedule that Ford provides is… optimistic, in my opinion. I should mention I do a decent bit of offroading and towingWhat do y’all think I should REALLY be doing at 50k miles, and how often in general do you think preventative maintenance items should be done?

Here’s what I’m thinking for 50k… let me know if I’m missing anything, or if I’m being overly cautious.

Brakes
Spark plugs
Oil change
Tire rotation
All new fluids

Thanks, y’all!

Yes I’m being overly cautious, or yes this is a good plan?
Good plan.

Brakes may not need changing yet but should
be inspected. I did everything else on your list at 50k though

Say this is a used vehicle? Check EVERYTHING! Look for leaks, torn boots, loose bolts, loose suspension and steering components, worn brake components. Check all fluid levels, filters (engine air, cabin air) and anything else you can think of.

Tranny service. Front and rear diffs and transfer case. For sure.

Follow the Ford "severe service" maintenance chart, it's a good starting point, if you intend long term ownership.

I like this idea, but am having trouble finding the severe service maintenance chart. Any idea where I can find it?

What all fluids do you think I should change? I’m sure it’s a bit premature to do coolant, but figure it’s time for brake fluid, diffs, tranny, transfer case fluid—just confirming you figure that’s all the fluid I need to worry about right now.

i would inspect brake fluid but wouldnt have that high on list to change.

diffs, tranny, and transfer case 100% as you don't know its wheeling history

I would do coolant for water pump health alone.

All alse as well.

It seems rhe brake fluid is highly heat stressed given the tiny rotors and calipers on such a heavy vehicle so worth doing as well. At least use a baster to change resivoir out takes no time and cheap giving a refresh.

Fresh fluids are the highest return longevity and reliability measure tou can take.
