All this talk of inspections on this forum makes me feel a tiny bit better about CA.

Don't forget our CA smog check,
Starts about 4 years in then every couple of years after that

Still far less intrusive than some states

Anything's possible, if disconnected it could be a non factor or it could be an annoying chime every 8 seconds

Depends how ford has their system programmed

With how complicated and connected cars are today I would not assume you can just take parts off without possible side effects

i still have the rear camera. it just deletes the spare tire

Pretty sure the smog starts at like 8 years now. Still haven’t had to do one for for 2013 Escape.

So hard to keep track, I've got an 2011 and I've smogged it twice so far
I guess they must have changed the schedule between,11 and 13

I probably just jinxed myself and I'll have to smog at my next renewal
