Better to drive with it all the way open. I do it all the time around town. If im gonna be on the interstate at 70 for more than a couple miles Ill close it.

I would use a strut clamp to hold it open. If you want it partially open, just clamp it then use your bungee cord to hold it down.

I have used these on hoods or trunks when the struts start to go bad. I might try it on my rear window to see how it works out. I will use one on each strut to make sure it is not uneven.

I wish there was an easy way to remove all the clam shell hard top windows, side and back. Safari top should have been a built in option.

I would worry about strut separation from mic top

Top isn't designed to be driven like that. For open air it is designed so you can remove the top, anything else is up to fate
