I've read all about people buying from out of state dealers or in on line transactions. Why are the prices so different? My example--I live in NY. Almost every dealer (I want a Wildtrak in hot pepper or green or silver) here wants approximately $65k for an approximately $70k car. Elsewhere, mainly in the south and perhaps Midwest, I'm seeing approximately $4-5K less (pretty uniform across the various dealers) after taking into account the typical rebates. Dealers up here have essentially told me that there is no way they can do a deal for what the dealers in the south and midwest are doing. If I didnt have a car I was looking to trade in, I would jump on a plane and drive the bronco home.

Why not drive your trade to them and do a deal?

Usually boils down to supply & demand. Certain vehicles are more in-demand in certain areas of the country.

For example, in urban/suburban California where gas prices are sky-high, there is a substantially higher demand for electric vehicles and hybrids. Surprising how many Californians travel to Utah, Idaho, etc. to get a good deal on EVs.

If you live in the plains states or the midwest, pickup trucks are king. Many of the jobs and industries in those states revolve around farming, oil extraction, industry, etc. and most of those fields require a pickup. Meanwhile an off-road centric SUV probably doesn't sell as well in states where most of the surrounding terrain is flat and the highest "mountain" is a dirt hill.

Dealers obviously price the vehicles for the market they are in, because they know most people aren't going to willingly travel across the country to a different market.

I drove 8 hours to trade in my Big Bend Bronco for my now Badlands. Money savings was well worth my time and effort.

In FL, I see 3-5 Broncos every single drive. Sometimes up to 10 in an hour long ones. They are everywhere and there are dealers that had 100 on the lot. The nearest Ford dealer to me has 40 as I walked through with a sales guy looking for a specific BRaptor.

Dealers here have the volume I guess to support the price cuts.

i get the opposite, bronco raptors are more expensive in Georgia, Alabama, South and North Carolina than in Missouri and New York areas.

I wouldn’t pay over 58~ for a Wildtrak at this point, regardless of where you live (if you are one to want a deal, if money is no object more power to you). Especially if you have a trade. Find a dealer that has too many broncos or that is in the business of making good deals and building relationships. I got roughly 12k~ under MSRP taking my time and working to find a dealer who was motivated to sell. Get a burner phone number with an app like MySudo or Google Voice and hit up like 5-6 dealers.

Just a quick look on autotrader shows a few in your area for less than 60k. New Ford Bronco Wildtrak for Sale Near Me in Brooklyn, NY - Autotrader . Mostly green but a few red.
