If it's on the front 6 inches or so....touch it up for rust prevention and then cover it with the hood deflector.
I believe the hoods are aluminum so they dont rust. I'd rather get the paint fixed the right way. Any recs for a hood deflector that actually looks nice? I hate the way most of them look

I think it will depend on the shop. The whole vehicle was about $5k, not cheap, but worth it to me
Wow that's a lot more than I was expecting to hear.

Was it from being "ducked" or "bucked"? I know there is a lot of concern about that damaging paint on here...

Sorry - that sucks!
I'm not sure what that means.

Yeah I've had nothing but bad luck with this thing. I had the whole tailgate replaced under warranty and then there were paint issues with the new tailgate. Finally got that all squared away after 6 months of being in and out of the dealer and now this happens not even 2 weeks later.

I did the entire vehicle. You can just do the hood and maybe the front fenders for cheaper

Where exactly is this on the hood?

Not that this will fix your current issue, but you may want to consider a hood deflector to help with future potential rock chips.
Yep, I have one on my hood as well and have no idea when it happened.

The paint on these things is apparently as fragile as butterfly wings.

With the silver/grey primer, my Antimatter Black doors are starting to get a galactic look about them.
